HARRISONVILLE -- Helias teammates Daemen Duemmel and Eli Homan won their respective weight classes this weekend at the Harrisonville Christmas Tournament.
Helias won the team title with 725.5 points. Marlow (Okla.) was second in the 40-team tournament with 677.5, while Fort Zumwalt South was third with 616.
Duemmel took top honors at 106 pounds for the Crusaders, while Homan won the title at 175.
Duemmel finished 5-0 to win his weight class. He won once by technical fall and four times by fall, including a victory in 4:44 against Mason Pullen of Fort Zumwalt South in the title match.
Homan went 6-0 to take his title. He won once by medical forfeit, three times by fall and twice by technical fall. In the title match, Homan won by technical fall in 4:48 against Lucas Tennyson of Pacific.
Aleksandr Careaga and Brady Fann of the Crusaders finished second at their respective weights.
At 157, Careaga finished with a record of 6-1. He won once by decision, and five times by fall. In the title match, Careaga dropped a 5-1 decision to Grant Leininger of Southern Boone.
At 215, Fann was 5-1 in the tournament. He won four times by falls in the first period and once by ultimate tiebreaker. In the title match, Fann lost by fall to Dylan Johnson of Festus.
Dugan Williams was fourth at 165 for Helias with a 5-3 record. He won four times by fall and once by major decision.,
Finishing fifth for Helias were Greg Cizin at 113 with a 4-2 record and Jackson Sherlock at 190 at 5-2. Alex Wieberg was sixth at 126 with a record of 5-3. Ben Holee was sixth at 150 with a record of 5-2, while Zyan Knollmeyer was seventh at 285 with a record of 5-3.
Helias is back in action Jan. 9 in a dual against Marshfield at Capital City High School.
