Sky has confirmed the final date for customers to place their orders in time for Christmas Day. It comes as the provider has launched a range of new TV, film and sports packages, with prices now starting at £15 per month for the Essential TV and Netflix bundle.
Each of the new plans come with a Sky Stream box, Sky's new method of watching TV that uses WiFi instead of a satellite dish or aerial. New customers can expect delivery of their Sky Stream puck via DPD the next working day, meaning to have Sky in time for Christmas, customers must sign up by 9pm on Monday, December 23.
Sky Stream is a plug-and-play device that's ready to use straight out of the box without the need for an engineer visit, with Sky claiming it can be set up 'in minutes'. Plug it into your TV's HDMI port and the power supply and follow the on-screen instructions, reports the Express.
The device offers access to hundreds of channels with Sky's new £15 Essential TV bundle, which includes more 100 channels like Sky Atlantic - home to blockbusters like The Day of the Jackal and The Penguin - along with free subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+. Customers also have the option to upgrade to the Ultimate TV bundle for £22 per month, which includes extra channels like Sky Max, Sky Comedy and Sky Documentaries, which aren't included with the Essential TV package.
But as the festive season is a time for indulging in Christmas films, you might want to consider the £25 Essential TV and Sky Cinema bundle. This package not only offers all the perks of the Essential TV bundle but also gives instant access to more than 1,000 on-demand films with Sky Cinema.
December will see a raft of blockbusters debuting on Sky, including Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Kung Fu Panda 4 and A Quiet Place: Day One, which join Christmas classics like Elf, Love Actually, The Polar Express, The Holiday and It's a Wonderful Life. Sky Cinema members also get a free Paramount+ subscription and two Vue cinema tickets every month at no extra cost.
If you're more of a sports fan than a movie buff, there's the Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle available for £35 per month. This provides access to the latest action in the Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, Golf Majors, Tennis and England Cricket across nine dedicated channels.
Sky Sports is also broadcasting every match from the World Darts Championship until the final on January 3, as well as every practice, qualifying and race in the upcoming F1 season starting in March. Elsewhere, Virgin Media offers a range of competitive TV packages that come with fibre broadband.
Virgin's plans now start at £31.99 for the monthly rolling M125Fibre Broadband + Flex plan, which includes more than 150 TV channels and 132Mbps broadband, with select plans also providing access to Sky Cinema and Sky Sports from £60.99 per month.
