Pregame Thoughts: Saints vs Packers

The New Orleans Saints are getting set to battle with the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

The Packers come into this contest 7th in the NFL in points for at 27.1 points per game. Jordan Love has had a breakout campaign and the offseason signing of Josh Jacobs has been a welcome sight to Matt LaFleur's offense. With the Saints defense sitting at 12th in points against at 22.3 a game, can Joe Woods' defense do enough on the Frozen Tundra to hang around?

Alvin Kamara is closing in on his first 1,000-yard rushing season in his career. The Saints' leading rusher in franchise history has had one of the best seasons of his entire career in 2024 but will be unavailable tonight due to a groin injury suffered against Washington. How will the Saints be able to move down the field and put up points without their starting quarterback and most dynamic playmaker? It will certainly be a task.

On paper, this is a brutal matchup for the Black and Gold as they are a 14-point underdog right before kickoff. After already being eliminated from the playoffs, the Saints will be looking to stay competitive and finish the regular season with a couple of wins, but it will take a ton of success and execution against one of the better squads in the NFC this season.
