"The Jaws of Life" save the day during Cross Creek extrication

Units from the Cross Creek Fire Department and Alachua County Fire Rescue responded to a single-vehicle accident on CR 325 in Cross Creek early this morning.

Crews found a single pickup truck that had rolled several times.

One occupant was found entrapped at the time.

Crews from ACFR and Cross Creek safely removed the occupant from the vehicle using hydraulic rescue tools, commonly referred to as "the Jaws of Life."

ACFR transported the occupant to a local hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
