All of North Georgia and parts of Central Georgia will be under a Winter Storm Watch beginning Friday and continuing through Saturday. A watch indicates that heavy snow, sleet, or freezing rain is possible, and Georgians are advised to prepare for potential power outages and hazardous road conditions.

As of Friday morning, the City of Atlanta, Cobb County Government, Walton County Government, and the DeKalb County Board of Health have announced closures.

Cobb County Chief Judge Gregory Poole has issued an order closing the courthouse on Friday, with normal court operations set to resume Monday morning. The only exception is Cobb Magistrate Court, which will maintain its 24/7 operations.
