This holiday season, give yourself the timeless gift of better cable management. Today's MacBook Pro and LG DualUp display user shows us one way to make a small but significant improvement in the look of a computer setup. You can use cables with 90-degree connectors rather than straight ones for a cleaner look (or get 90-degree adapters for your straight cables). Check out the "after" photo above and the "before" photo below.
Redditor ReimanRealm ("RR") showcased the super-clean MacBook Pro and LG DualUp monitor setup in a post entitled, "Small upgrade, Big difference!"
"Switched to 90-degree USB-C adapters, and honestly, I'm loving how much cleaner my setup looks now," they said. "No weird cable angles, no clutter -- just a nice, streamlined desk. It's such a small tweak, but it makes a big difference."
RR mentioned the adapters he uses on his USB-C cables to created 90-degree connectors are from Cable Matters. Adding on, a commenter mentioned it's pretty easy to find right-angle and down-angle USB-C cables or adapters on Amazon. We included some below.
And a commenter offered a helpful tip for adapter use:
"One tip on the 90-degree adapters: Make sure your Wi-Fi speeds are as expected," they said. "It turns out the computer's Wi-Fi antenna is close to the left side Thunderbolt ports, and some Thunderbolt-rated adapters produce RF interference that will impede WiFi signals. If everything is working as expected, you should be fine. If you're noticing speed drop offs, though, it could be interference from the adapter."
