LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - As hectic as it is this time of year, there are many efforts to collect toys and food for those without.
But one nonprofit is often overlooked.
Vitalant says its easy to suffer a blood shortage over the holidays because people are too busy to stop and donate. But, here's a good incentive.
Aside from possibly saving a life with a donation, Vitalant is offering a free turkey or ham to everyone who donates during its week-long Christmas Blood Drive inside the South Plains Mall.
The drive will run from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. until Monday next to Tilly's in the old Eddie Bauer storefront.
To collect a turkey or ham, donors must donate at the location inside the mall.
However, Vitalant is always accepting blood donations at its main location at 2523 48th St. Below are the hours their doors are open.
