University Of Missouri Responds To "Deeply Offensive" Comment From "Ex" Professor About James Woods' House Burning In California Wildfire

By now, everybody is aware of the devastating number of wildfires that are raging across southern California right now, particularly in the greater Los Angeles area. Dry conditions and insanely high winds have sparked a handful of fires in the region, and due to the powerful winds, fire crews are struggling to contain the blaze. The Palisades Fire has burned more than 5,000 acres and over a thousand homes and businesses in Pacific Palisades and Malibu. The Eaton Fire has burned more than 10,000 acres in Altadena and Pasadena. And the Hurst Fire has burned over 500 acres near Sylmar.

Nearly 100,000 people have been ordered to evacuation, over 1,000 homes and structures have already been burned, many more are in danger of being burned, hundreds of thousands are without power... it's an apocalyptic, nightmare scenario for the people of Los Angeles.

Fire crews from neighboring counties and neighboring states have rushed in to help, first responders are still evacuating people... my heart breaks for the people there who are losing everything they own... homes, businesses, their livelihoods. Everything.

Actor James Woods shared a video of his home from the night before, and then revealed that he and his family have evacuated the area. He shared videos from his home's security camera of the flames rising up towards his deck, and most likely towards his home.

Amid the likely destruction of his home (it's still unclear at the moment), he offered some perspective, and said that he was just grateful to have good friends and neighbors.

And while any normal, sane person would be grieved to see the level of destruction in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, one professor from the University of Missouri, Karen Piper (name checks out), was... happy?

In a since-deleted tweet (screenshots live forever Karen), she called it "karma" that James Woods' house was on fire.

Never mind the thousands and thousands of other people who are losing everything, never mind the first responders risking their lives to fight the blaze and evacuate people, never mind the billions and billions of dollars in property damage. This is apparently all cosmic justice for James Woods...

Why? Because he is a well-known Conservative and Donald Trump supporter.

One look at Karen's X profile and you can you see that's she is an insanely woke lunatic who spends all day ranting and raving about President Donald Trump. Never mind all the other Liberal people and celebrities that live near James Woods, never mind all the Liberal folks who make up a majority in Los Angeles county, and never mind the fact that if "karma' was actually a real thing, her own wickedness would beget the same sort of misfortune? Not the sharpest Ph.D. in the tool shed, is she?

The tweet was deleted but not before it received a TON of backlash for being callous, insensitive, and just plain stupid.

According to her LinkedIn, she is still employed by the University of Missouri, where she taught literature and geography, however in a statement to ABC 45, the school says she is retired. Nevertheless, they called the statement "deeply offensive" and not a reflection of the institution's values:

"The University of Missouri extends its sympathies to all those affected by the wildfires in California. We find the statement by Karen Piper -- a retired professor -- to be deeply offensive, and it does not reflect the university's viewpoint or values. We are reviewing this matter."

Glad to know she isn't still teaching...

Anyways, after deleting the tweet, she spent some time tweeting about how "awful" the destruction is, completely ignoring her exploding mentions:

But... X doesn't forget. They were quick to remind her what else is... "awful."
