Some lucky Texan may win an early and enormous Christmas present this year thanks to the Mega Millions jackpot drawing on Christmas Eve.

It will be the third-highest jackpot drawing of the year. The highest was $1.13 billion on March 26.

If someone or multiple people win Tuesday, the $944 million jackpot would be the seventh-highest winning jackpot in Mega Millions history. The eighth-highest winning jackpot was won by someone who bought a ticket in Texas earlier this year.

The largest Mega Millions jackpot is $1.6 billion.

Only once in previous years has someone won a jackpot on Christmas Eve. It was back in 2002 but no one ever claimed the prize.
