Is the Fast and Furious feud really over? Leading star icon Vin Diesel suggested that it might not be during this year's Golden Globes, with the action icon addressing his co-star and fellow action hero Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with a gesture that many have called out as "petty." Diesel took to the stage at the Beverly Hilton during the event to present the best cinematic and box office achievement award, which was won by Wicked, offering a sly smile towards Johnson, who was sat in the audiences, and saying, "Hey, Dwayne."
Viewers have since taken to X/Twitter to share their thoughts on what was a awkward moment. User @xtofer_robn said, "That "hey, Dwayne" from Vin Diesel was SOOOOOO LOADED!!!!! This is the type of petty I live for!!!" While @JmeKeller adds, "Vin Diesel's "hi Dwayne" is the level of petty I aspire to in 2025. #GoldenGlobes."
Many wondered if we might see a repeat of "the slap heard around the world," with @bbozuteru saying, "dwayne johnson is one instant away from going up onstage and killing vin diesel live on air." @sonofsunday129, meanwhile, felt "You could literally see The Rock's hatred towards Vin Diesel in that shot. Oh my gosh," while @Ex_Factor618 says, "Peoples Elbow on the way."
The Feud Takes to the Big Screen in 'Fast & Furious 11'
The first reports of a feud between Fast Five stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson first began in 2016, with the latter commenting on social media about the behavior of certain male co-stars. While he did not name him specifically, Vin Diesel was the most likely target of Johnson's criticism. Diesel then followed this with his own statement about "tough love," something which Johnson said he "laughed hard" at while suggesting he was finished with the Fast and Furious franchise back in 2021.
"I've wished them well. I wish them well on Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me." The superstar also couldn't help but address Diesel's previous remarks and "tough love" statement, telling Vanity Fair, "I laughed, and I laughed hard."

Despite this, Johnson will, in fact, return to the hugely successful action franchise for the final outing in Fast 11, aka Fast XI. Johnson has since said that he regrets going public with his issues with his co-star, and returned to the series as the unstoppable agent Luke Hobbs in a mid-credits scene at the end of Fast X, with the character being dragged into the ongoing vendetta of Jason Momoa's villain. Johnson addressed the feud last year following his comeback, saying, "Vin and I put all the past behind us."
