Schenectady County declares Code Blue through Friday morning

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WRGB) -- Schenectady County officials have declared a Code Blue through Friday at 7 a.m., with temperatures falling below freezing.

The declaration was issued Monday morning.

When a Code Blue is declared, the county's homeless shelters extend their hours of operation to allow those who need shelter to remain indoors during inclement weather. Shelter locations include:

Bethesda House, operating out of the State Street Presbyterian Church

The Salvation Army's Evangeline Booth Miracle Home (women only)

Schenectady County Department of Social Services
