Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division are seeking the public's help to identify a driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run collision on Nov. 27 around 6 a.m. on Western Avenue at Seventh Street.
A male pedestrian was crossing westbound across Western Avenue in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a light gray or blue 2004-06 Acura MDX traveling north on Western Avenue. The driver of the Acura failed to stop, identify themselves or render aid, as required by law. The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on Western Avenue near 4th Street, police said
The Acura is believed to have sustained damage on the front right passenger side. The victim, who was pronounced dead, was not identified.
Motorists are reminded that if they are involved in a collision, they must pull over, notify emergency services and remain at the scene to identify themselves. A reward of up to $50,000 is available for information leading to the driver's identification, apprehension and conviction.
