WEBSTER COUNTY, Mo. -- A head-on crash between two vehicles near Niangua, Missouri resulted in the death of two people early Friday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on Route M seven miles east of Niangua between a 2017 Ford Mustang and a 2013 Cadillac ATS.
The MSHP crash report states that the eastbound Ford Mustang crossed into the opposite side of the road and crashed head-on into the westbound Cadillac, totaling both vehicles.
The 36-year-old driver of the Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene. The 42-year-old driver of the Cadillac was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield and later succumbed to his injuries.
This is the 111th and 112th fatalities for MSHP Troop D in 2024.
